I need to interface CCG8 I2C with a 1.8V host. CCG8 datasheet specifies to connect VDDIO to VDDD 3.3V and the the I2C VIH min is mentioned as 0.7* VDDIO. the application need to support dead battery as well. Please let me know how to interface the same.
Show LessHi,
Is there plane to make new CY4500 to support EPR 48V application?

Hello, first of all, I have more than one question and I will share them with you in items.
First of all, I would like to share the system I have installed with you.
I need 27W power and there is no battery in my system.
It will only work with power from usb pd.
I use the device standalone, I do not make an extra communication.
I set this power to 15v/1.5A, so it matches a source of 1.5 amps and above.
In my tests I used an adapter that can give 12v 1.5A (18w) power and I noticed that there are 2 pdo outputs on a single port. 12v 1.5A (18w) and 12v 3A (36w) pd power. cy4533 evb board current was set to 0.9a and I could draw maximum 18w from the adapter. I then increased the evb board current to 1.9a and saw that I could connect to 36w power. does the current selection here work with this logic? when I set the current to 15v 1.5a can it connect to 36w power? Is it connected to the nearest current above 1.5a?
I have scenarios where this device will only work from type c connector. Is it appropriate to supply a type c device continuously? Is the integrated able to supply the set voltage and current continuously without interruption?
Do 2 mosfets placed on the v bus line provide full protection? Can I say that there is an ideal diode there? because there may be voltage at the dc output part of the device. this voltage should definitely not pass to the vbus line. if so, the v bus line can be connected to the computer with a type-a to type-c cable. If the voltage flows in the opposite direction, the connected computer will fail.
I fed the cy4533 evb board from the type-a port of the computer using a type-c converter cable and saw that the dc output part was open and there was 5v at the output. in this case, shouldn't the output be turned off because it cannot communicate with the pd? i also tested it with a 5v adapter where the extra cc1 and cc2 pins could not be connected, 5v appeared at the output and did not fall into any fault condition. can i use the usb a output of the computer to feed this device or can i feed an adapter without cc pins?
How does the integrated react to this situation?
There are many points that are not clear in the datasheet. Can you help me?
Show Less"Can I connect SINK_FET_EN and SAFE_POWER_EN output in parallel to switch the same MOSFET?
When there is a higher voltage from the vbus in side at the dc out output, does the voltage pass back to the v bus in side or do these mosfets provide complete safety?

Hi, i want to use example code which is ctd us code.
So, i checked codes in main.c, But i don't understand this part..
I know that ctd us example code is using for power source only.. so that have to keep DFP and Source.
but when Negotiation complete change them to UFP and Source..
why change role to UFP and Source??? and I don't know why UFP and Source are together.
Show LessHi, i'm testing ctd solution with example code (CCG3 ctd_us <= Charge through dongle_Upstream).
I'm modifying the example code to operate logic which is i need.
But i need to see the contents of the dpm_task for this task, but I can't see it (There is not in documents, and example codes).
Can I get this (Documents , dpm_task logic, src code etc... "one of the things" ) please ?
Show LessHi,
I am looking to use the CCG3 product line for my DP over USB-C sink application for 4x DP video data as well as 100W power delivery (sink only). Per the datasheet, Figure 13's USB Type-C to DisplayPort with CYPD3120 fits my application for the video delivery, but upon browsing the default sink PDO in the EZ-PD tool, it looks like the default power profile is 5V/3A (requiring custom programming to default negotiate highest power advertised from source).
In the CY4531 evaluation module, the CYPD3125 is used for both VBUS negotiation and video data (capable of acting as a UPF only). It seems like this version comes preconfigured with FW that will negotiate the highest power available from the source, not requiring any custom FW programming. Is there any configuration data required to enable ALT DP communication (as a sink controller)? Perhaps to properly configure HOTPLUG_DET pin 35? Or would this device work out of the box?
Thank you,
Brian
