Can't upgrade CYPD3175_24LQXQ Firmware

Hi

I can't update any firmware on the CYPD3175 chip because of this error:

When connecting CY4532 kit to program the CYPD chip and go through "Tools --> Firmware update" and select the "CYPD3175-24LQXQ_pa_direct_fb\CYPD3175-24LQXQ_pa_direct_fb_3_5_0_2649_0_0_0_pa.cyacd" file the upload gets to 99% and then I get this error message:

PD contract established.

Restarting the target device

Re-negotiating PD contract after switching target reset

PD contract established.

Device is in boot mode: Starting FLASH update operation

Programming data from file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cypress\EZ-PD CCGx Power SDK\CCGx\Firmware\binaries\CYPD3175-24LQXQ_pa_direct_fb\CYPD3175-24LQXQ_pa_direct_fb_3_5_0_2649_0_0_0_pa.cyacd

Firmware/Configuration write to flash completed

Firmware image (FW:1) is valid

Restarting the target device

Re-negotiating PD contract after switching target reset

Error: PD contract not established after RESET

Error: Flash update procedure failed

Error: DLL call returned error while flashing

I'm using Power Boar as a programmer:

Any suggestion how to solve it?

Hi,

        Please refer to the thread programming CCG3PA from CY4532 EVK.

     From the error message it can be seen that on the 8th line it says "Firmware/Configuration write to flash completed " .

This error message comes up because the new firmware which was written to flash is unable to start since the jumper settings have not yet been changed to support the new firmware.

Hence the error message displayed on the dialog box “Firmware/Configuration upgrade not completed. Refer to the message window for details” seen in the EZ-PD Configuration Utility GUI can be ignored. You can change the jumper settings according to the new firmware and everything works fine.

Please change the jumper settings according to your new firmware and cross check if the firmware is updated using "firmware read" option available in the EZ-PD Configuration utility,

Please revert back if you are unable to read the firmware.
