It is a short-circuit prevention measure between Pin's, but could you tell me about the following contents.

Q1) Is it necessary to protect between VBUS and CC under the terms?
Q2) How can it be protected as parts?
(We know that CCG3PA has short protection function.I want to check if there is no other solution regarding short protection)

Best Regards

Arai

Hi Arai-san,

A1.

As you know, accidental shorts may occur because the CC1 and CC2 pins are placed next to the VBUS pins in the USB Type-C connector.

A2.

CCG3PA uses IEC ESD protection diodes to protecting the CC pin.

Please search an appropriate protection parts by yourself if you use devices which do not have VBUS to CC short protection diodes.
