The CCG2 USB Type-C Power Bank Solution page listed below indicates the design is able to act as a DRP (dual role port). It calls out CYPD2134-24LQXIT as one of the 2 major components on the board.

Looking at the CCG2 datasheet, the CYPPD2134 appears its meant for a DFP Role.
Based on the CCG2 datasheet, I would infer that the Power Bank solution would require a CYPD2122 where the role is specified as DRP. Am I missing something which would enable the CYPD2134 to function as a DRP in this design?

Your understanding is correct. CYPD2134 can only function as DFP. If you want to build a DRP design, then you can only choose CYPD2122.
