We are going to propose "CY62148EV30LL-45ZSXIT" as a replacement for our current production renesas SRAM "RMLV0408EGSB-4S2#HA1". while analyzing we found address line pinout A17 and A18 of the cypress part is interchanged when compare to the renesas part.

We have to clarify, is there any impact in our existing design because of this pinout change?

Please explain this.

Hi,

With only the Address pins interchanged it will have no impact on your design. In your system you can visualize the memory as a block box. Internally how it functions (In Infineon part data will be stored in say location A and in Renesas part say in location B due to the change you mention but when you read the data back you will be reading from the same locations A and B respectively) will not affect your application.

In fact if you check our Sync memory datasheet we do not even number the Address pins and just mark it as A in the datasheet. The user can configure the pins in any fashion as they want and start using the memory.

Thanks,

Pradipta.
