PSoC Creator 4.1
I've tried to export to BDS format, and I found issue in export several characteristic to service xml file.
In same time export in psoc xml file is correct.
Files in attach for compare.
Show LessHow does the pins component interrupt generation function when the number of pins is set > 1 and mulptiple pins are set to generate interrupts?
Show LessWhen drawing a schematic, I frequently find there is no good way to represent an off-chip functional module or integrated circuit. I usually use a group comprising a rectangle and some text objects, and then just end wires in space on top of the rectangle outline. This is not ideal because if you move the group you have to manually adjust all the wires. An alternative is to use TestPoint components or Connector components with one terminal, or maybe a Terminal, but all these give over-elaborate and inappropriate renderings. Also it is not currently possible to include a Component Catalog symbol in a Group (why not?), so you still cannot make a component which can be moved as a unit with automatic adjustment of wires.
A similar problem is with internal components like the SCB which do not model all their pins (why not?). So again I find I have to manually add, for example, RX and TX legends on top if the SCB and similarly just end the external wires on top of the component outline. Again you cannot include an on-chip component in a group.
A good solution to both these issues would be to allow components to be grouped and have a very simple new Off-chip component. This would just be a short stub line with a legend and a wire attachment point on one end (like the Cypress Pin component but without the internal end). These could be grouped with a Cypress component to add missing pin representations, or with a simple rectangle to compose a model of any module or component.
I thought of asking for a generic IC component, but on reflection I think the above is better. Experience in other Schematic packages is that the positioning of pins on the component rectangle is generally over-constrained limiting the ability to position the pins for an esthetic and logical schematic layout.
However another useful feature would be the ability to add a composed group to the Component Catalog as a user-defined component. This would be useful both for Off-chip and On-chip components (storing pre-wired compositions of existing components along with configurations).
Show LessGreetings all! This is a general question that involves engineering judgement (which I don't have a lot of in the field of motor controls).
1. In discrete math for a real time application, I might code a time derivative as:
y
Similar equation for an integral:
y
2. There are more "accurate" equations than the ones above, for instance:
More accurate derivative:
y
QUESTION:
Let's say I want to use the "more accurate" derivative equation in a 100kHz PWM control loop application (for instance, a dc-dc converter, or a motor control application).
The "more accurate" derivative uses an x[n+2] term, which means that whenever I use the equation, I'm always 2 samples "behind". In the world of 100kHz real time applications, is this 2 sample delay a "big deal", or can I get away with it?
Show LessI am new to the PSOC. For the last few years my conpany has used Microchip devices but due to recent 20 week lead times, we are looking at migrating our products to Cypress PSOC 5LP devices.
One issue is enabling customers to perform field updates. I note the Bootloader Host built into the Creator software and wonder if there is a stand-alone version available? Preference would be one withsource code in say VB.NET where we can put our own branding onto the form.
Preference for bootloader would be via USB or Serial UART port.
Thanks in advance.
Show LessI would like to repurpose some of the 059 target boards to be programmers - they are piling up here as we use the programmer for our own custom boards. I have seen the offer of souce in need source code and schematic to progKit for Cy8CKit-043 but the recommended course of action does not appear on the webpage (at least for me.) Any hints where I can find it?
I'll take kitprog or kitprog2, I don't really care.
Show LessI'm trying to use a shift register component in PSoC 4. In order to probe the behaviour of the component I've set up this test setup to use control registers to test the shift register component. The test code writes bytes into the FIFO and bitbangs the control signals.
The test pseudocode:
Write 0xa5 into the shift register 4 times
loop:
write a count into the FIFO
clock 8 bits through and check status.
use the serial port to print the debug info to a console
After the loop gets rolling it does seem to work, but I don't understand how to make the shift register output the bit's I want it to during the startup transient. I'll probably have a similar problem when it comes time to go back into idle to wait for another burst of data. Do I need to write a custom component with verilog??
My messy main program is attached:
Show LessHello everyone
it is possible to create millisecond or microsecond delays like cy_delay() ,cy_delayus() in psoc by using verilog language??... anyone please help me how to create delays in psoc using verilog
Show LessHi
I am currently working in a system with a PROC BLE module and 4100S mcu. I have developped some custom components, one of them has only code with no components. I have tested the components in projects for the 4100S and 4200M and works fine, I see the custome components in custom catalog and the code run flawlesly. The proble is that when I try to reuse the components in PROC Module project and I set up the dependencies my custom catalog does not appear. I have tried to generate a special version of the component for the PROC family but is not available during the component creation. It seems that the PSOC Creator does not allow to use customize the peripherals. Is there any work around for these ? I have forgot something ?.The `PSOC Creator version that currently I am using is 4.0
Thanks and best regards.
