PSoC™ 5, 3 & 1 Forum Discussions
I have started to using low power modes of PSoC 3 and i'm wondering how to minimize current consumption in hibernate mode.
I am using CY8C3866LTI-068ES3 device, i have made blank project - without any components, i have changed some parameters such as:
- disabled pll,
- master clock changed to IMO (3MHz),
- completly disable debugging port.
On my PCB i have 3.3V connected to: Vdda, Vcca, Vddio0, Vddio1, Vddio2, Vddio3, Vddd, Vccd
The ground is connected to: Vbat, Vb, Vssb, Vssd, Ex_Pad
All other pins are unconnected.
The only two lines in my code are:
CyPmSaveClocks(); //Save Clock configuration before entering Hibernate
CyPmHibernate(); // put the device into hibernate mode
When i measure current taken by PSoC 3 (after starting this program) it's about 100 uA - when in datasheet it says that it supouse to be about 200nA.
I'm wondering where such big difference comes from?
What can i change to minimize current consumption?
I was testing with forcing some pins to be outputs in high impedance, some to inputs and etc. - but any such move leads to bigger current.
I have also tried "Hibernate_WakeupWithPICU" (application note and example) - but the minimum current is the same (over 100uA).
I have attached example project which takes 100uA.
Thanks in advance for any help/hints.

Show LessI know you have all been waiting; the kits have finally started shipping out so far about 90 percent of them so everyone should have them by the middle of next week.
If you don’t receive your kit let me know at Jeffrey.musante@cypress.com.
Good luck with your designs,

What could it be?

Show LessDid you know that the PSoC 3 Boost Coverter lets you power PSoC from voltages as low as 0.5 Volt ? This feature is fully functional in the ES3 Silicon. This implies the chip using a single AA/ AAA battery or even a Solar cell.

Show Lessmy problem is:
How do I count the number of high-level output of a comparator zero-crossing?
I have to count how many zero-crossing exist in a second, therefore a counter must count for 1 second and give back the number of zero-crossing and put it in a global variable.
any idea?
thanks all!
Example 5 CapSense code, Page 151:
extern const uint8 LCD_Char_1_customFonts[];
should be:
extern const uint8 CYCODE LCD_Char_1_customFonts[];
in order to make the sample code link properly.
Show LessHi to all,...
I am working on my recent project , in that i am planning to replace video cable(VGA) between laptop and projector.....
so,...for that i am planning to use option 1) in that i want to use psoc3 and on board (CY8CKIT - 001) wireless module to transfer data..... i known that in laptop ,... setting adhoc network we can transmit some video data...and at receiver side (at projector without wireless facility),we can receive that data through PSOC kit....
so,..is it possible ??
and if i want to use wireless usb option 2) that how wireless usb can interface on CY8CKIT - 001 kit .... ?
guide me....
thanks.
Show LessI want to use boost converter to boost 5V out of Li-Ion battery and to let 4.2V battery voltage to drain down to 3V before recharge. What voltage level I set booster input voltage? Or do I need to regulate first battery voltage down to 3 volt and then boost it up to 5 volt?
