I've just had a bunch of boards built containing the PSoC5-LP35 chips, but they wouldn't program.

The miniProg identifies them as CY8C5868AXI-LP032 whereas the are stamped CY8C5868AXI-LP035

This is a nasty issue for us, it means we have a bunch of chips with the wrong part number on them, and to work around the issue we must now maintain a seperate build of the firmware, targeting the LP032.

Has anyone seen this type of issue before, with parts from Cypress having the wrong part number stamped on them?

Here are two phots. The first is a genuine LP035 part, working and known good. The second also claims to be an LP035 but is in fact an LP032.

Just a quick follow up on this one.

Cypress investigated this issue and we discovered that the chips we had been sold by a very reputable distributor were in fact  counterfeit devices.
