PSoC 5, 3 & 1 MCU

New Contributor II

Hello,

I want to connect multiple 2-wire RTD in PSoC 5LP.

I have two questions to make a above project:

1) which block is needed to detect 2-wire RTD,

2) how can I use 10 channel of RTD in PSoC 5LP.

I found a official document for 4-wire RTD but I couldn't

find out a document which for 2-wire

best regards,

Yuya

Hi Yuya,

Please refer the application note, AN70698: Temperature Measurement with an RTD . Even though the appnote focuses on 4-wire method due to its advantages, section 3.1 talks about two-wire measurement. You can use the same method for 2-wire measurement. The wire resistances should be taken care in your design for accurate measurement.

1) You may need an IDAC and and ADC block from the PSoC side for the suggested method.

2) An Analog multiplexer can be used to switch between RTDs. Internal routing resistances will come into picture in all these cases.

Dear Vasanth,

Thank you for your fast reply.

I could make a project to detect 2-wire RTDs.

Thank you so much.
