Dear all
I performed an OTA firmware upgrade with CY8C4248LQI-BL583 and CYBL11573-56LQXI using the BLE Pioneer kit and all went okay, at the end the BLE unit reset and started advertising. I did the same with the same project code using a CYBLE-214009-00 module on a custom pcb: it performed the OTA successfully but it did not reset, so I have to reset it with a reset button.
It seems it doesn't get to CySoftwareReset()?

Show LessHello,
I used ShiftReg component and want to set its ShiftReg_SR_SIZE actively in my main.h file like
#define ShiftReg_SR_SIZE (12u), but it seems not work.
anyone know how to set it by code?
thanks.

Show LessHello, I have been using the PSoC 4 M-Series Pioneer Kit for a while without any problems. Now I'm having trouble connecting to the board. When I try to enter Debug mode it gives me an error saying the "Port Acquire Failed". I have rebooted my laptop several times and have tried different USB ports. When I plug the board into the USB port it does power on and runs the last program I executed.
Has anyone had this trouble or may have some suggestions on how to connect to the board, if so please let me know.
Thanks,
Joe
Show LessHello,
I have been trying to configure an MBR3106s. I have a printed board with a setup very similar to the one pictured. So far I have tried connecting to EZ-click through the KitProg2 programmer included in the CY8CKIT-145-40xx Prototyping kit. EZ-Click recognizes the programmer, but does not recognize the MBR3 chip (as in, nothing comes up under devices). In every block diagram I have seen (such as the one pictured), a MiniProg3 is used to configure the chip. Are there differences between KitProg2 and MiniProg3? Do I need a MiniProg3 to configure this chip?
Also, most documents I have read reference a host controller in some cryptic way. Is a host controller required to configure an MBR3 chip, or can it be configured "as is" (just what is shown in the schematic)?
Finally, the long term plan for this chip is to operate as a touch screen and connect to an MCU (not a PSoC). Will this chip operate/be configurable with 3rd party MCUs?
Thanks,
John

Hey @all
tue the fact, that I want to have an overview of small (cheap) PSOC4 Dev-Kits, I want to show you my summary as a very small offering to this community

Hi Guys,
We guys are having a new requirement on Cypress PSoC 4200 Cypress BLE chip where we want to have maximum number of bonded devices as 1. However, when I look at changing this in the configuration ? I see that this option is grayed out. The Cypress documents says its possible to change it. I still don't understand how (or why) it doesn't let me change this ?
My device is a having a security mode of 1 and since it doesn't have a IO capability with Bonding requirement as Bonding.
I want to have the Maximum Bonded devices as 1. Here it shows 4 and grayed out.
Please help.

Shrey
Hi,
I would first like to state that I am a beginner first (in programming, and microcontroller in general, only dealt with Arduino).
I am trying to use the Alert Notification Service (ANS) to send a Simple Text Alert (showing text, "Alert Received" or any other text) to my Android phone. However, I have looked around and couldn't find an example that does such a thing. I'm using the PSoC BLE as a GATT Server and GAP Peripheral, and my Android phone with the CySmart installed and my GATT Client and GAP Central.
Can anyone point me to the right direction?
Thanks
Show LessI'm looking to share hardware pins between Bootloader/Bootloadable firmware.
I was able to get the BLE_OTA_FixedStack_Bootloader example project working well on my target hardware, PRoC 4 family.
Currently I'm creating my own Bootloader/Bootloadable project from scratch to make sure I understand the example project.
I would like to share the digital output pins that are defined in the Bootloader project with the Bootloadable project, as was done in the BLE_OTA_FixedStack_Bootloader example. I defined the pin functions as "extern" in the Bootloadable project, but I get an M0120 build error, undefined reference.
For example, LED_G is a digital output defined in the Top Design of the Bootloader project.
In a Bootloadable header file
extern void LED_G_Write(uint8 value);
In Bootloadable main.c
LED_G_Write(LED_ON);
Then I get the undefined reference build error.
I feel like there's some extra magic at play to access the digital output of the Bootloader project, but I haven't found it yet.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Show LessHello,
I would like to use "Connectable directed" advertising packet in PSoC 4 BLE device, however I cannot find GAP setting tab in Component GUI when pulling down "Advertising type" function.
How can I chose the type on GUI?
