I am designing a new controller with touch keypad..Since its for an industrial application I would like to know the various failure modes associated with Capacitive touch keypads.

Here are just a few:
- False positives
- Water on the keypad causes poor response or false detection
- Gloved hands do not work well (without special accommodation)
- Buttons can become "stuck" and require re-calibration
- Adjacent buttons can be activated when pressing a nearby button
- Low sensitivity depending on cover materials
- Won't work through metal
