Dear all,

I was trying to order a CY5677 dongle but apparently Digikey and other distributors don't sell it anymore and it's marked as obsolete item, if so what is replacing it? I haven't seen any newer dongle.

The CY5677 is not obsoleted from what I can see:

It is only listed as obsolete on digikey. It could be they are wrong on their part status.

Is there any alternatives?

Or is cypress planing to stop further supporting / developing of cysmart / BLE?

The CY5670 is similar; From what I can tell, it looks like they pulled both off of the shelves however

Not sure what a replacement BLE sniffer would be; The CY5672 contains the CY5670, but also has extra RDK parts, so the price will be higher ;(

There is however, the mobile app version CySmart – Mobile App | Cypress Semiconductor  which will allow the same usage, but with a phone app instead. This would mean that you can use your phone as the CY5677 replacement if needed?

Any news on an alternative? Although Cypress web site says it is selling CY5677, distributors say it is obsolete. I have used the CySmart mobile app on Android, but our current requirement is for PC communications.

According to this document http://www.cypress.com/documentation/product-change-notice-pcn/ptn172507july-2017-product-terminatio... there is not a next best alternative for the CY5677. That was the last update on November 2017.
