Hello,
Can anyone explain why if we place a PSoC 4 BLE (CYBLE-224110-00), without respecting dimensions of the host PCB-keep out area, can lead us to an unacceptable BLE connection distance (RF-BLE connected at maximum 5cm RF from Tx)?
Based on Cypress datasheet "002-11264_CYBLE-224110-00_EZ-BLE_TM_CREATOR_XT_XR_MODULE.pdf" we have
Based on our board design we placed the antenna part of PSoC at the edge of host- PCB
What is the purpose of host PCB-keep out area concerning BLE RF propagation?
Keep in mind that we have an efficient VDD and VDDA in PSoC and also TX Power ,TXP, 0dBm!
Can this issue (the violation of respecting dimensions of the host PCB-keep out area for best RF perfomance) justify this unacceptable BLE RF connection or could be something wrong with other thing (bug)?

Hello,
It is mandatory to configure/Enable the PA/LNA to reach the signal to antenna. For saving the power you can configure CSD/CPS pins further as mentioned in datasheet.
The range you are getting is just because of leakage current in Antenna pin.

Have you enabled the PA/LNA for this Module as described at page#16 of the Module datasheet ?

Hello Gyan,
Our application in "CYBLE-224110-EVAL EZ-BLE™ PSoC XT/XR Evaluation Board", works fine (considering the BLE Tx Power, BLE has range > 5meters) . The same application(with the corresponding pinouts modifications) in our board, make Bluetooth Link with less range (<2cm) , Tx pwr 0dBm.
Our conserning is to use BLE with lower power consuption as possible without using Extended Range Feature . Is it nessesary to programing PA/LNA to be in Bypass mode (which
ensures that the RF signal reaches the antenna as reported in PAGE16 )? Or it is the default configuration of CSD - PA/LNA to be in Bypass mode?
We are trying to figure out, what it going wrong, we believe that it is only the Host PVB Keep-Out Area Around the chip Antenna that cause the limited bluetooth range.
