Hi, What is the absolute max junction temperature and max recommended operating junction temperature of S29GL512S10TFI02 (industrial) and S29GL512S10TFV02 (industrial plus)? Both are TSOP-56 package. The datasheet gives max Ta (ambient operating temperature) but does not give max rated junction temperature Tj. Thanks,

Hello
Thank you for contacting Cypress Technical Support, an Infineon Technologies Company.
S29GL512S10TFI02
Tj = 94.5 °C
S29GL512S10TFV02
Tj = 114.5 °C
Thank you
Regards,

Thanks for the quick reply. Couple follow up questions:
1) Are the values you provided the absolute max or the max recommended operating? I assume they are max recommended operating. If so what is the absolute max junction temp?
2) If I use the formula Tjmax = Ta +(V*I * ThetaJA) with V and I being the max voltage and max current values and Ta being max ambient operating temperature given by the datasheet I get a similar answer. Can you please clarify how you determined the max junction temperatures? Thanks,

Hello,
To be precise, the Tj = 94.5 °C for the S29GL512S10TFI02, and the Tj = 114.5 °C for the S29GL512S10TFV02, denotes the maximum OPERATING junction temperature. The absolute maximum junction temperature is 125C for both FLASH memory devices. However, do not operate the S25GL512Sxx at 125C as erratic operation may occur. Operating the S25GL512Sxx FLASH memory device at 125C is outside of its indicated temperature grade and violates the datasheet specification.
Best regards,
Albert
