Is the "Maximum ambient temperature with power applied" the same as "Maximum junction temperature"?

I've seen a number of Cypress datasheets that either never had Maximum Junction Temperature, or removed it and added Maximum Ambient Temperature with Power Applied. Are these the same thing? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The Maximum junction temperature is the max temperature of the junction that the device can tolerate to perform as per datasheet standards. The system engineer usually needs to maintain the junction temperature below Tj max for reliable operation and not to damage the device permanently.

The Max ambient temperature with power applied refers to the max temperature of the the surroundings/environment/ambience when the device is in use (meaning power applied). If the ambient temperature crosses the graded temperature range for the device this can lead to an increase in Tj which may lead to a permanent damage to the device due to overheating.
