Question: I have a designs which contain large behavioral up/down counters. When I try to compile in Warp, it takes a long time to compile or Warp hangs?
This is a known problem with Warp. Use the counter defined in the LPM library. This component is optimized to prevent a combinatorial blowup during synthesis and optimization. This problem does not appear when you have an up-only or a down-only behavioral counter.
Please be noted our entire Cypress CPLD product and Warp tools are Obsolete and not recommended for new design and development.
