Question: What is the drop in replacement for Simtek STK20C04 series of parts?
Answer: Simtek has made obsolete the following parts long ago. There is NO drop in replacement for these parts. The nearest part suggested by Simtek is the STK12C68 series. Use of these parts requires changes in the layout and firmware of the application. Refer to the app note about changes required. The app note suggests the changes to be done for these new boards. However STK12C68 series is in NRND (not recommended for new design) status. We strongly recommend customers to use the latest series ofCypress NVSRAMs such as the CY14E256LA and redesign their boards.
