Question:

Why does PSoC Creator Code Example browser freeze?

While browsing code examples, Creator occasionally becomes unresponsive and slow for five seconds or more. Sometimes, the following error message is displayed:

"There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (523:523)".

Answer:

This issue occurs with certain versions of the Adobe Acrobat Reader (for example, 15.024.20053). If you are interested in progress/discussion on this issue, Google Search the error message or view one of the following links:

Adobe claims to have fixed this issue with the January 2017 release. Since this release, we have not been able to reproduce this problem:

Workaround: Disable Protected Mode in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

To disable Protected Mode, perform steps similar to these (based on your version of Adobe):

  1. In the Adobe Reader, choose Edit > Preferences.
  2. In the Categories list on the left, select Security (Enhanced).
  3. In the Sandbox Protections area, uncheck the Enable Protected Mode at startup checkbox.
