Question: Need to develop a test device that looks like a USB hub. I want to plug my USB devices to these ports and see if my device works.
Answer:
The USB hub is just a dumb repeater. Therefore, the USB hub alone is not enough to do the your task. You need to have a chip that has host capabilities such as generating SOF, USB traffic, detecting connect/disconnect... We do have the SL811HS family that has host capabilities. The EZ-811HS Developer's kit is the host with 4 downstream ports. For more info on this product, please go to our web site at http://www.cypress.com/?rID=14315.
