Question:
In BYTE mode configuration, using the write buffer commands for Parallel NOR Flash, what is the value for the word count in cycle-4?
Answer:
In the S29GL-P datasheet notes, in BYTE (x8) mode, the total number of cycles may be from 6 to 69 (63-bytes). In BYTE (x8) mode, there is a total of 64-bytes. Therefore, any number of write cycles from 1 to 64 will suffice. Note: the word count is actually the write count minus 1. For example, if the word count is 32, the write count to be entered in cycle-4 is 31.
