Question: Why are all the PSoC® device families not displayed in the PSoC Programmer™ Device Family drop-down box?

Answer:

The Device Family drop-down box in PSoC Programmer lists only those device families that could be programmed through the protocol that has been selected in the Protocol options. Also note that before choosing the device, you should set the port connection as Disconnect, which will disconnect the Miniprog3 from the PC. If the port connection is set as Connect, the device selection will be grayed out.

For example, if the programming protocol is JTAG or SWD, only the PSoC 3, PSoC 4, and PSoC 5LP device families will be displayed in the Device Family drop-down box, as shown in Figure 1. PSoC 1 devices will not be displayed as they cannot be programmed through the JTAG/SWD interface. Similarly, if the programming protocol is ISSP, the PSoC 1 device families would be listed but not PSoC 3/4/5LP.

After the device family is selected, all the devices under that family will be displayed in the Device drop-down menu.
