Question: How many times can the CY2547 clock generator be programmed?
Answer:
Like all of the devices in the CY254xx family of clock generators, the non-volatile configuration memory in the CY2547 is one time programmable (OTP). Device programming is typically done on a dedicated programmer, and is unrelated to use of the I2C bus once a device is in operation on a PCB.
This device has an I2C interface that can be used to reconfigure the output frequency or other aspects of the device. Such configuration changes are volatile and are lost when the device is power cycled. There is no limit to the number of times that I2C commands may be written to the device.
