Try the following workaround:-
1) Go to Registry editor, by typing "Regedit" in run menu.
2) Go to registry entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem"
3) Select the NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation entry.
4) If it is not zero, then assign zero (0) value to this registry entry, as shown in fig 1.
5) Restart you machine.
Now, you should be able to compile projects without error

Most of the ES parts were dropped when Creator 2.2 was released.
There is a board upgrade program - http://www.cypress.com/?app=kitupgrade
If not using a Cypress board best solution, replace part on board with fully released
version.

Wrong forum for above post.
As an aside, would be nice if Cypress released reg edit fixes in the form of script files,
to make sure key corruption not done by users. Just a thought.
