Hi! My name is Jonathan and I use CY8C29466 and CY8C24123 for school's projects.

Last summer I did a little project for my girlfriend and it was the last time I used de PSoC designer. Some days ago I began a project and I noticed that I can´t compile when I used the F6 button. I tried with my old projects and they worked. I tried with my new project and I had problems again. When I tried to use the program part in a old project it didn't work.

So I have installed the PSoC designer 5.4 but it doesn't work. When I try to generate/build it returns me the message: "makehex.exe dejó de funcionar. Windows le avisará si encuentra una solución" I think that it means: "makehex.exe crashed. Windows will send you a note if they find a solution". So I can´t program and I don't understand the reason. It was OK until three days ago.

I know the problem could be windows but does somebody knows the way to solve it?

Some questions/notes -

1) What OS are you using ? XP thru Win 8 is OK

2) Try an example program from Designer start page

3) If all else fails try a reinstall of Designer 5.4, painful but sometimes cures these problems

See min install requirments, attached.

Hi, thanks for answers. I was using windows 7 home basic. I´ve installed PSoC 5.4 about 4 times but it didn't solve it. I changed to windows 7 ultimate but it was the same problem. My partner has installed the PSoC desaigner 5.4 and he didn´t have any trouble. I will check properties when I return at home.

MY proble is that it worked in this computer until 4 days ago. I´ll try all things you tell me.

Man, You had do re-install 4 times, and change Windows OS!
And 4 days later !
If I were you,
1) Set PC's BIOS to Default setting (some virous live in BIOS area !)
2) Prepare lately older version of Windows OS e.g.XP

I think I could use a virtual machine and run it from there. I´ve not changed my OS, I did an upgrade. A class mate has told me that I should uninstall the PSoC designer and erase the registers of cypress before install it again. But I´ve met somebody who had my problem and he installed windows again in order to use the designer.

There have been some remarks in the past that PSoC Creator does NOT run on a virtual machine.

Its a crap shoot but try a registry cleaner, like freebee Advanced System Care.

Might be a corrupted reg key. Or use Norton tools or System Mechanic if you

have eitehr.

Hi Bob, My virtual machine doesn´t want to accept the USB entry. It´s strange... I can´t look for archives in my flash memory. I've tried with CCleaner but it didn´t work. I think I another program for cleaning registers. Thanks Dana for the suggestion

Post a case here with a mention of this thread. Maybe

Cypress can do a remote desktop session with you and

fix the problem. Suggest that in post.
