In the following Kits :
CY8CKIT-001
CY8CKIT-030
CYC8KIT-050
There is a problem with Hardware Handshaking in that the CTS/RTS pins are swapped on the development kits.
This is a hardware/PCB error on the circuit boards and can only be fixed by a wiring change.
There are two workarounds to this problem :
1) Don't use hardware handshaking, select software handshaking (3 wire protocol) only.
2) Wire a DB-9 Female to DB-9 Male adaptor plug with the following pinout :
2 -> 2
2 -> 3
7 -> 8
8 -> 7

Correction: Only the CY8CKIT-001 has this error. The CY8CKIT-030/050 boards have been corrected.
(I was looking at an older schematic....)
thanks,

I'm a bit annoyed that I just spent several hours troublshooting my project when the problem is actually in the dev kit circuit board. Why isn't this little "note" in the knowledge base?? And why do you have a typo in your fix (2 to 2 and 2 to 3)???? This should at the very least be noted on the main dev kit page. I'm sick of having to sort through the thousands of forum posts for the "oh, by the way"s that cost me hours or even days of lost time.

@PeterT
I'm just the messanger here, so maybe we can have a ceasefire....
You are correct, Cypress should put that in the knowledgebase
(I don't work for Cypress - I'm just another user here...)
Also, unlike PSoCDeveloper, there is no "Edit" function on posts here,
so if you make a typo, you are stuck with it...
So I will correct that here :

My appologies. I thought, for some reason, you were representing Cypress. Which means that Cypress is even more negligent than I thought. Thank you for posting about the problem.

If you file a case pointing to this thread tool team will most likely update release
notes. Just a thought.
To create a technical case at Cypress -

You have to be registered on Cypress web site first.
