I would check windows for updates, as the .NET complaint

I suspect is coming from windows side.

Install requirements for Creator 3.0 , see the release notes section-

Re- installing DotNet framework 4 did not cure.

Still "DotNetInstaller detected a problem" and quits after deleteing all modules installed so far.

"2. If a non-Cypress prerequisite is missing (like .Net and Windows Installer, etc), a webpage with a
download link will pop up. Download and install the prerequisites. Run the installer of those
programs as needed."(install notes)

No.

No pop.

No info.

Any hint anybody ?

One possible way forward: the installer extracts at one point all the seperate installers (one for each tool documenation and so on) to the temp directory. You might try to copy them to a separate location, and install them one by one.

Another question: where did you get the installer from? Is it from CD or downloaded? In the latter case - try redownloading it, maybe it just got corrupted.

Thanks HLI.

Good point.

Software was downloaded.

Unfortunately, the installer deletes all files after errors detected.

I cannot identify any temp directory containing meaningful/executable files downloaded and left over by the installer.

More hints ?

If you file a CASE I believe they will work with you over

a remote desktop connection to help with the install.

To file a tech case -

www.cypress.com

“Support”

The error messages show the temporary directory (under Win7 its in %PROFILEDIR/AppData/Local/temp). What I did when I looked at these files was to clean the temp directory before running the installer. That way, the new folder created by the installer pops up immediately. In my case I had an error message I needed to acknowledge, and was able to copy the files before that. Maybe you just need to be fast enough...

(At which point in the install process do you get the error? I see right at the start a window 'Extracting ...', and the extracted installers get created there. When that is finished, the Installshield wizard opens.)

Error occurs shortly after the install shield wizard started.
As soon as the error pops up, the temp folder is cleared.
Maybe I could try to stop the process before temp is cleared.
Good hint, hli, thank you.
How did you manually install your saved files ?
Even if I manage to install the saved files manually..
there will be a configuration error left and needs to be cleared.

The extracted files are just MSI installer bundles, so you can them just install by double-click. Thsi executes a little bit less logic than the normal installer (which, for example, tries to do some caching which is normally useless).

Sort the temporary folder by time, so you se which files are already extracted. Once the copy process touches onew, the installer should not be able to delete it. But if the delete happens automatically even before the error dialog pops uzp, it might take several tries to copy everything.

Downloaded 'PsocCreatorSetup_3.0' creates intermediate folder IXP000.TMP containing *.msi libs and file 'PSocCreatorSetup.exe'.
When executed, setup copies all to the final folder, issues ' DotNetInstaller detectred a problem', then deletes all files and folders.
As hli suggested, installation and setup has to be stopped before all files and all olders are deleted.
Then .msi files can be started simply by right click.
hli, I owe you a free drink

Do we need ALL .msi files ?
Certainly we need PSoCProgrammer, libraries, docu, updates.

Do we need USB bootloader.msi, clock programmer, bridge control ?

When you receive the new PSoC4 prototyping kit you'll certainly use the bootloader. The bridge controller is afaik needed when you use the MiniProg3 or when you have got a PSoC5 development kit.
