I have a shortage of IO for my Project. I have lots of LCD glass and need a 8x8 key matrix so there is not enough IO. I would normally use a TCA8418E keypad scan but I have to assemble these myself and I have lots of bridging problems with that IC (WCSP).The design calls for a future printer upgrade So an additional Processor would be the easiest and cheapest long term option at this point. One processor would be master and drive the ADC's and LCD Glass. The other would slave and store data for the printer and operate the keypad.
Any Issues that anyone knows with this? Pros or cons
Thanks

I would use PSOC 4 on the low functionality side, save some money.
Regard, Dana.
