I connected the Smart Tag (BCM20737S) via the USB port/cable to the computer. The device manager
indicates that the tag is under the following:
Other Devices
Enhanced Com Port
Standard Com Port
I followed the directions and downloaded the latest VCP driver
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
You will also want to make sure you download the latest FTDI USB to Serial Driver as well:
I right click both Enhanced and standard port and selected "update driver software" and pointed to the
proper folder but keep getting the message that the "Windows could not find the driver for the device:"
Any help appreciated
Thanks,
Mark

The WICED Sense has a Silicon Lab UART chip, hence you would have to install the Silicon Lab driver, you can find them here :
USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers | Silicon Labs
You can download the zip file and run the executable accordingly.

vik86 and MIke,
Thanks for the instructions. The computer can detect the WICED sense tag now
after installing the Silicon lab driver.

Note that for certain versions of Windows, you will need to dowload this specific 'package' from Silicon Labs: http://www.silabs.com/Support%20Documents/Software/CP210x_Windows.exe (177MB file).
For instance, the Link vik86 provided does not produce a link for Windows 7.

Mark,
Where did you see the instructions being referenced? I checked the small fold out that comes with
the WICED Sense board and there is nothing referencing the download of FTDI drivers?

Mike,
It was a general statement related to the SDK. Check the bold type below.
FAQ Page:
http://community.broadcom.com/docs/DOC-1024
Which Operating Systems does the SDK run on?
The WICED Smart SDK runs on 32- and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows. Support for OS X and Linux will be added in the SDK 2.0 release.
Note: You will also want to make sure you download the latest FTDI USB to Serial Driver as well: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
Thanks,
