I'm trying to wake the PSoC 5LP up from sleep mode using a comparator. For the reference I would like to use one of the DAC's, so that I can adjust the reference voltage before going to sleep.
What do I need to do to keep the DAC awake during sleep mode? Is this possible without using Alternative Active mode?

Welcome in the forum!
In sleep mode the DAC will be disabled, but the comparators will work. So you need to provide your required reference externally.

AltActive seems to imply yes (thru use of PM_STBY register write) -

Tech support confirms AltActive will work -
Thank you for contacting Cypress Technical support. Yes, the IDAC/VDAC can be active during the Alternate Active mode. Regards, Dana.

Something I have been wondering myself, is can Alt Active work just like sleep mode with the exception of one or two componets left online? Would the current draw be equal to SleepCurrent + OnlineDeviceCurrent?

There is more current drawn in alternate mode since most regulators stay active. To reduce pwr try to
use sleep and get woken up by comparator
or
use deep-sleep and get woken up by a pin. (might need an external comparator)
