Can any one tell how can we place resistor and capacitor and configure thier values in the PSOC design in the workspace of psoc creator so that we can add them to other blocks.????

Hi Munna486,

There is no resistor or capacitor which can be used as discrete components in a PSoC.

Capacitors or resistors, if required for a design has to be connected externally. But for Pin configurations, the drive modes can be set as Resistive Pull up, Resistive Pull down, etc which is internal.

However to represent diagramatically the external passive components like resistors and capacitors, it can be drawn in the top-design. But it is only for representation and understanding and it cannot be configured.

Thank you dsag. Also i have a doubt can we give input from a function generator on to the board like in a blood pressure monitor design so that the actual pressure sensor is not needed to test the design?

Hi Munna486,

For testing out the project associated with the Application Note on BP monitoring, you can give input from Signal generator mimicking the Pressure sensor output.

But make sure that the signal is chosen to be similar to that expected from the pressure sensor. The signal should always be positive and the input should not go below the ground voltage.

But the pressure sensor have two outputs one negative and one positive. :-(. Also for the capsense are we suppose to add the buttons external to the board or can we use the buttons on the board?

The pressure sensor output is differential. You can interface this sensor output to an Instrumentation amplifier, followed by Band Pass filter.

If you want it to do it the digital way, then you can directly feed it to an ADC which is in differential mode, and then use a DFB.

For Capsense, the buttons on board must be sufficient.
