Hello,
I have a very basic routine monitoring a voltage on an I/O and doing an ADC on it. I take that value and filter it then use it to control a fractional divider.
I can program with no errors while in the debug mode but after a few seconds the clock stops changing frequency as I turn the pot (watching it on a scope) and if I pause the program the call stack show that it stops in a CY_NORETURN loop. Same thing happens on scope when not in debug mode. Any insight would be much appreciated but please understand I don't code for a living. Also, I am programming a CY8C4245AXI-483. Thanks.

Take it literally, you should not be there, something went darn wrong. Hardware fault (very rare) unmaskable interrupt, stack fault, clock fault (mostly before main() starts, instruction fault (unknown code executed mostly due to stack fault) Can you post your complete project, so that we all can have a look at all of your settings? To do so, use
Creator->File->Create Workspace Bundle (minimal)
and attach the resulting file.
