Hello,

I am trying to program the CY8C4013sxi-400 chip with SOIC 8 pin package using
Kit Prog of Cypress PSoC5LP Prototype Kit: CY8CKIT-059
http://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cy8ckit-059-psoc-5lp-prototyping-kit

The CY8C4013SXI-400 belongs to the PSoC4000 family and uses power cycling to enter Debug.

Here are the connections

KitProg VTARG => VDD Pin 4

KitProg GND => VSS Pin 5

==> VCCD Pin 3 ---- 0.1uF to GND

KitProg SWDIO => Pin8

KitProg SWCLK => Pin1

The PSoC programmer is unable to detect the Microcontroller with this.
I would like to know what would be the best way to get this chip programmed.

Thanking in Advance,

Regards,
Bose

Hello,

I have checked both these documents.
But, they only talk about the power cycling as measure for replacement of XRES.

However Kitprog does not have power cycling, so I additionally implemented this in the circuit bu having physical disconnection available on the board. But still this did not work.

I am looking for an exact solution for the programming of the CY8C4013sxi-400 chips.

Kindly help me out.

Regards,
Bose

Consider filing a CASE on this -

To create a technical or issue case at Cypress -

www.cypress.com

“Support”

“Technical Support”

“Create a Case”

You have to be registered on Cypress web site first.

Regards, Dana.

Hi Bose,

I've the same problem with the SO8 devices. May you please give me a feedback, when you receive a qualified answer!

I have been able to program them using the kitprog and PSOC programmer, a pain though, it will not work in PSoC creator, nor will it enter debug.

The voltage has to be at 3.3V, will not work at 5V.
