At the PSoC 5LP Prototyping Kit Schematics Pin 3 on header port J2 is called P_XRES. On the PCB it is called RST. This Pin is not connected to SW2 / Reset (RST) or J5 / Pin 10.

It is probably the reset signal for the KitProg part.

It is the reset for the target board, not the KitProg.

But there is no connection between:

- RST and SW2 / Reset (RST)
- RST and J5 / Pin 10
- RST and RST from KitProg part to target board

It has no function what so ever.

Accidentally or on purpose, it isn't routed anywhere.

My boards are rev. 5 at the time of this comment.

I still assume that it is the reset signal from KitProg named "KP_Reset" in schematic.

... and you might be right that it was the intention of the designer to have had KP_XRES run to pin 3 of J2, but if you take a close look, the signal name at pin 3 of J2 is P_XRES (K missing), hence no route ever got made.

I'm not postulating that this pin 3 will never ever become KP_XRES, but at least for rev. 5 it isn't. I hope we can agree on that at least.

Thanks for you comment avast.

I'll think about what I can do with this unused pin. Maybe I connect the pin with RST. Then I have to pin 3 of J2 a reset signal for connected peripheral devices (eg, Ethernet controller).
