Hello,

is it possible, in any fashion, to have the IDAC supply a constant current while the 5LP is in sleep mode?

I've tested with the AltAct mode, and only get down to around 10-12mA, which is not as low as I would like.

However, my initial test with sleep mode shows the IDAC being turned off in Sleep mode.

So I was wondering if it was possible to set something up that would leave the IDAC on in Sleep mode?

Thank you

Hello,

IDAC will not function during Sleep state. Can you please post your project here. We will try to suggest some steps to reduce the current after reviewing the project.

Thanks,

Hima, the core part of the IDAC is the bandgap reference. Looking in TRM no mention

what happens to BG in sleep. But we know comparator can wake up a part, which uses

BG. So does the IDAC go to sleep in low power modes ? Nothing is stated in its dataheet

either about sleep, and its not in the tables of sleep components ?

I will file a CASE on this.

Regards, Dana.

HIMA,

this is my current version of the project.

It's basically an RTC example with IDAC added in.

With a scope across the LED2 and across a Rload on the IDAC, I can see my current only runs while the device is awake.

(1000ms delay was just to more clearly see the IDAC current.)

I appreciate any advice to reduce power consumption while running the IDAC.

Thank you

I have confirmation from tech support that IDAC does shutdown but not why it

does. They will answer that and get back to me.

In the case that the IDAC cannot be enabled in sleep mode,  is it possible to  shutoff enough things in AltAct mode to get close to sleep mode (excepting the IDAC neccesaries)?

I haven't read much about AltAct, and don't know how low consumption you can actually get with that.

Thanks for any advice.

These are not 100% current but may help with estimation in a general sense.
