Hi,

I wanted to know whether it is possible to select the memory cells that will save their data to their non-volatile counterpart or once a STORE operation is initiated, automatically all cells are being stored.

Thanks

There is no option to select the memory cells that will save data to non volatile part during a STORE operation. Once a STORE operation is initiated, content of all volatile SRAM cells will be saved to the non volatile section.

Could you please let us know, why you want to save data only from the selected memory cells to the non volatile section? Also, please let us know which is the Cypress nvSRAM that you are using.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,

Thank you very much for your reply. I am not currently using a device but I was looking for the CY14B256LA.

I am interested in saving selected data to the non-volatile part as I intend to use this device in a ultra-low power system and selecting specific parts of the memory to store would save some useful energy in this case.

Thanks,
Theo

Hi Theo,

What density are you looking for? Do you have desired current specs ?  We have 64-Kbit and 256-Kbit Parallel F-RAM parts with better current specs.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your reply.

However, for the specific application I was looking for, being able to select the cells that are being saved to the NVM is of utmost importance.

Thanks
Theo
