How to get as low latency as possible

We would like to use the BCM20737 as a part of a musical instrument. To achieve this we need to get as low latency as possible.

Is it possible to get a latency at about 5-10ms? With latency we mean the time it takes from start sending the data until the data can be read at client side.

What settings should we use etc? How should the data be sent (notification)?
