I am trying to define an IoT application on a real combustion engine, allocated on an area showing a temperature lower than 125 ºC (Peltier cells), and using PSOC 6. It should also be ideal to get the electric energy from the engine temperature, and testing with the "Solar powered IoT device kit". But I was not able to see any application note or example to start documenting the Project. Any recommended idea? how to use it with the mentioned kit?
Many thanks in advance

Joel,
I wonder if this can help: Two years ago, my natural gas hot water heater died.
The replacement gas hot water heater was installed. However, there was no electrical power source for the controller. Yet an LED light was blinking at about a 2 second rate.
I found out the unit has a gas pilot light. This lit pilot powers a thermal energy harvesting generator. Besides flashing the LED, it also controls the heating as well as some other diagnostic functions.
You can use a Peltier junction (Seebeck effect) device to energy harvest. The trick is making the delta temperature between the two sides to be the largest possible. Depending on your application, you might be able to air-cool with heat sink on the cool side.
Suggestion: Does it need to be a thermal energy harvesting? Can you install a fan in the exhaust manifold? You can then turn air-flow to rotational motor-generator.

joel,
TECs can provide plenty of power. I would check some of-the-shelves energy harvesting boards, like these ones
