Design is based on Tapex Creek using Cypress CCG5 part# CYPD5235-96BZXI, and Cypress Billboard part# CY7C65215-32LQXI.

1. Can the Cypress devices in question be programmed in mass (off board) prior to circuit board assembly? Cypress Doc 002-22328, page 4 states that a programmer is to be used using the SWD lines, which is fine for development (which we have done) but this is unacceptable for mass production.

  • Please clarify how off-board programming is handled for both devices for mass production
  • Please clarify how these devices FW could be updated in the field after shipping- specifically, how is an update performed over the TBT3 connection via the host computer?

Thanks in advance!

Hi ,

1. Yes. The Cypress devices can be programmed in mass (off board) prior to circuit board assembly. This is task could be completed by third party programming house.

2. The firmware of CYPD5235 and CY7C65215 can be updated by Type-C interface D+/D-, the command line is offered with firmware binary if you are referring Tapex Creek reference design.

Best Regards,

Lisa

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

To be clear, we're asking if detailed documentation is available that clearly covers these two processes for these two devices. Please advise.

Hi ,

1. For all of documentation of Tapex Creek solution for configuration and upgrading, it is offered by Tapex Creek solution. You could get relates Tools and documentation.

2. For SWD programming SPEC, the specification and process could get from the link:

This question is still *not* answered.

We have all Intel Tapex Creek related support tools and documentation- this is not the issue.

You sent a link to the very document that I clearly stated that we already have in my initial post- this only covers programming the CCG5. It does not state how to update the Billboard device in the field (post-shipping). You state that it can be done via the command line over the USB-C connection. Can you please clearly provide documentation as to precisely what this command line utility is, and how such an update if performed?

We asked this question nearly 4 weeks ago, and we're still not getting support. Could you please have an FAE reach out to us?

Thanks

We have the Intel TDT, Imaginarium, as well as Cypress Thunderbolt Device Configuration Utility.

Again, and this is now the 4'th time I am asking and a month has now elapsed: Can you please clearly provide documentation that covers programming and updating these devices, especially the Billboard, and can you please clearly provide documentation as to precisely what this command line utility is that you mention, and how such an update is performed?
