I just noticed that CCG2 is available with many different firmware numbers.

Could anyone help me finding the correct one for my application? (might also be a different IC, I haven't strictly decided on CCG2 yet).

We want to create a three-part System

a) Charger with USB Type C port

b) Cable assembly Type C to custom

c) Device with custom connector that is powered through USB-PD

We expect to use 15W at 12V in the system.

Hi ,

Kindly refer below comments:

a) Charger with USB Type C port -->CCG3PA CYPD3175 https://www.cypress.com/products/ez-pd-ccg3pa-usb-type-c-and-power-delivery

b) Cable assembly Type C to custom  -->Cable is not SDK for customize. So that there is not any part number can be recommended.

c) Device with custom connector that is powered through USB-PD --> BCR CYPD3177. https://www.cypress.com/products/ez-pd-barrel-connector-replacement-bcr

Best Regards,

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

thank you very much for the recommendations.

Is there any overview on which ICs offer which functionality? It is my understanding that I could also use e.g. a CCG2 in the upstream facing device. Is there a way to easily see what is the main difference between the CCG2 and the BCR?

Best,

Michael
