Hello

At startup, their Host controller mounted on the board transfers the CYC7C66113 (HUB) → CY7C64013SC, CY7C63723PC, etc.
If accessed, a USB communication error may occur, and they are investigating.
The host controller uses a USB2.0 compliant product, but CYPRESS CYC7C66113 and CY7C64013SC are described as compliant with USB1.1.

Q1)

Are there any examples of failures that cause errors (cannot operate) due to differences in USB standards?
Since the 2.0 standard also includes the USB 1.1 standard, I think that it is not a problem due to the difference in the standard,
but,  please let us know if you have any cases in the past.

Q2-1)

Also, CY7C66113-PVC and CY7C64013-SC are targeted devices with PCN040142,
In their system , CY7C66113-PVC/CY7C64013-SC is used to transfer from LOW SPEED to FULL SPEED. Does this bug(Data toggle) apply?

Q2-2)
Also, in the old version of CY7C66113-PVC/CY7C64013-SC, does it mean that a communication error may occur when transferring from LOW SPEED to FULL SPEED?

Q2-3)
Is it ok to think that it is possible to solve this problem by using revA device( Both CY7C66113-PVC and CY7C64013-SC) ?

Hello Arai-san,

As per discussion on the case, the errata addresses the incompatibility between idle time when a low speed packet is sent on full speed upstream port. Since customer has a similar system, it may be linked to their issue. We wont be able to confirm the issue without USB traces on the customer's board. However, it is recommended to go with the new revision of the parts since the errata is related to the compatibility between full speed and low speed.

Best Regards,
Sananya

Hello Arai-san,

Q1. There shouldnt be any errors due to difference in standards since the hub is compliant with USB 1.1 as you mentioned.

Q2 1.Could you please explain a little more about the error? Please also attach USB traces if possible.

Please also let us know if the errors occur when any other downstream devices are connected?

I will check about Q2 2,3 and get back to you as soon as possible.

Best Regards,

Sananya

Hello Arai-san,

Unfortunately, we couldnt find much information on errata PCN040142 since CY7C64013-SC, CY7C63723-PC and CY7C66113-PVC are all obsolete products.

Hello Sananya san

Is it possible to tell us if the current customer's current problem is caused by errata or not?
