I am attempting to drive the Nokia 5110 LCD using an adapted version of the example from Element14 - https://www.element14.com/community/message/288978/l/re-psoc-4-pioneer-kit-community-project061-noki... https://www.element14.com/community/message/288978/l/re-psoc-4-pioneer-kit-community-project061-noki...

The display doesn't show anything at all. I have tried 'scoping the signals and it all looks reasonable to my eyes. Is there anyone out there who has succeeded with the same or similar hardware setup?

The software part is working fine.

These displays have 2 problems: it is difficult to choose the contrast and poor build quality.

Contrast is Nokia5110LCD. With line 252 (for details - on the Internet)

push on the screen in different places - the image should appear.

In this case, you will have to disassemble the LCD and rub the rubber under the display with alcohol.nokia.jpg

Hi,

In the project you have attached, the pins P2[0] and P3[4] are used. I guess you have attached them incorrectly. Those pins are on the different side of the same header. Please change them and check once.

Thanks

Ganesh

Thanks Evengiy, I'll try your suggestions.

Ganesh, the pin P2[0] is only used as a toggle pin for my scope to synch to...it's not for driving the display.

Hi again,
So, thanks to Evgeniy, I managed to make progress. The display now has come to life 🙂

I had otherwise written off the LCD as a lost cause, so big thumbs-up.
Have a virtual drink on me, Evgeniy
