We will use CY7C6563x to design an USB HUB. We want to dynamically and selectively turn ON /OFF the downstream ports. CY7C6563 has 7 PWR# pin connecting to external power distribute switch Enable pins. I need some experts to teach me how to config the PWR# pin and implement turn ON/OFF each downstream port.

Thanks.

Hello,

It is not possible to dynamically configure the hub to disable or enable the downstream ports as per your custom requirement. The PWR# pin should be connected to an external power switch which monitors overcurrent condition and notifies the hub of the same using the OVR# pin. The hub will then turn off the ports by deasserting the PWR# pin when indicated by the OVR# pin. The ports will then be turned on again when the host enables them and PWR# pin will be asserted accordingly by the hub.

Best Regards,
