Hello

About CMG1 E-Marker

In the case of 5A charging, it is understood that SOP prime or SOP double prime packet is sent and confirmed after detecting Rp/Rd.

Q1-1)Is the content of the packet to be transmitted specified by the PD standard with a fixed value?
Q1-2)Or is it unique in combination with the terminal (charging side)?

(Q2)

They understand that E-Marker is not required on the adapter side when the adapter is a cable integrated type, even if it supports 5A.
On the terminal side (charged side), it is understood that there is no need to additionally install an E-Marker (special IC) even for 5A charging. Is this correct?

※ The terminal can respond by simply changing the FW for PD communication to transmit SOP prime or SOP double prime packets.

Best Regards

A1) Since Discover Identity is issued to SOP_PRIME, Discover Identity Responder ACK contains obviously different Data Obj.

A2) E-marking on Type-C Cables

For passive cable assembly, having E-marker IC at one end of the cable would be enough.

What does "the adapter is a cable integrated type" mean? Is it captive cable? Captive cable should be implemented E-marker if it supports more than 3A.

Q1)E-Marker
