I just received my new Cypress FM4 Starter Kit (FM4-176L-S6E2CC-ETH). Looks like this kit used to come with a CD-ROM containing the initial software to install. I see that's all on the web now. No problem until you want to reinstallt eh original factory boar test application. It must exist as it is referenced by the name "SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V11.srec" in a PDF, and on these discussion boards by a later version "SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V12.srec". I cannot find this file anywhere, not on Cypress website, nor laying about on the dark corners of the web only to be found by a search engine. Please can someone send it to me?

Thanks,

Philip

Okay, refined my search to "SK-FM4-176L-S6E2CCA CD", and found CD ver 1.2 from June 2016 at https://www.cypress.com/documentation/software-and-drivers/sk-fm4-176l-s6e2cca-cd  (direct download from https://www.cypress.com/file/253056/download). This ZIP of a CD contains "SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V11.srec". That's better news. Does anyone have a more up to date version, e.g. "SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V12.srec"?

Thanks in advance,

Philip

Nearly had it. A search for "Board Test" did reveal https://www.cypress.com/documentation/software-and-drivers/board-test with a download link (broken so try https://www.cypress.com/file/258291/download instead). sk-176-s6e2cctestcode.zip contains SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V12.srec - Hooray! Not quite. Loading it onto the Cypress FM4 Starter Kit showed the same menu, and WinDiff confirmed that the file SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V12.srec is bit identical to SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V11.srec. Looks like a configuration management error by Spansion or Cypress.

Anyone receive a CD with their kit with a later version of the board tests .srec file on it?

The latest SK-FM4-176L-S6E2CCA CD v1.1 can be downloaded from here. It contains v11 .srec. The latest .srec is published here.

Nice try, my previous update explains why both those links are insufficient or no good.

Yep, but that's not the version that came on my Cypress FM4 Starter Kit, which has 11 tests (numbered 0-10), so is clearly not the latest.

SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V12.srec is bit identical with SK-176-s6e2ccTestCode-V11.srec, neither of which has the full 11 tests.

As I said, looks like a configuration management error by Spansion or Cypress. I'm guessing we'll not be getting the latest release of thoses board tests then. Anoyingly, its does not seem to be possible to extract the FLASH contents prior to programming the board, so I knew this was a risk and saw it coming. Only other solution was to never programme the board...!
