Hello,

We are a research and development company working on embedded systems and we want to use the cy8cmbr3116 controller.

We have been working on the cy8cmbr3116 controller for some time now.

A few weeks ago, we opened a forum for design reviews.

We prepared a circuit design in line with the information we got from the forum.

We wanted to experiment with prototypes, but we couldn't run the cy8cmbr3116 controller.

I will explain our experiments in separate messages...

We ask for help to solve the problems.

Hi MuMu_4440751,

If VDD = 3.3 V, VCC should not be shorted to VDD. Please see the screenshot from the datasheet below.

Connect a 0.1-µF decoupling capacitor if VDD > 1.8 V. Do not short it to VDD.

TEST 1

Purpose of the Test;

Communication and programming of the cy8cmbr3116 controller on the prototype with EZ-Click 2.0 software.

Work done;

We have connected the SCL, SDA and GND connections of the module we prepared for cy8cmbr3116 to the P5LP_SCL, P5LP_SDA and GND outputs on the CY3280-MBR3 development board. EZ-Click 2.0 software to run the device we want to select the device does not see the software

d001.png

Result;

Unsuccessful. EZ-Click 2.0 software does not appear in scans.

Device used in the test;

For cy8cmbr3116, we used a CY3280-MBR3 development board to connect a dedicated circuit + circuit to the computer.

The circuit of the circuit specially produced for Cy8cmbr3116 is as follows.

TEST 2

Purpose of the Test;

Test the operating status of the specially prepared circuit with a led to be connected to the Prox_Out (you can check it from the diagram) output.

Work done;

For this work we needed the default cy8cmbr3116 controller, which worked fine. We have removed the controller on the CY3280-MBR3 development board, which we are sure to work with, and mounted it on our own circuit.

We have connected the led to the Prox_Out output of the circuit (you can check from schema)

Although we bring our hand closer to the circuit does not light led.

At the same time, the SDA and SCL connections to the CY3280-MBR3 development card by connecting to the EZ-Click 2.0 software when we question the device again can not be found.

d001.png

Result;

Unsuccessful.

Device used in the test;

A custom made circuit was used for cy8cmbr3116.

The circuit of the circuit specially produced for Cy8cmbr3116 is as follows.

Hi MuMu_4440751,

Can you use the Bridge Control panel software and check if you are able to connect to the MBR3 device?

After connecting to the KitProg, press list at the bottom to check if the device is listed along with the slave address.

Please make sure that the pull up resistors are selected according to the interfacing voltage, data rate and the bus capacitance. Refer to the I2C NXP spec for pull up resistor sizing information.

Also what is the supply voltage VCC?

Also, how was the chip configured initially? Did you configure the chip using ez-click in the eval board and used the same chip in your custom board?

Hi Bragadeesh,

Thank you for your message and help.

The operation of the device is very important to us, we need your help.

Q:Can you use the Bridge Control panel software and check if you are able to connect to the MBR3 device?

R:MBR3 device looks by software

Q:After connecting to the KitProg, press list at the bottom to check if the device is listed along with the slave address.

R:Unfortunately, device list is empty

Q:Also what is the supply voltage VCC?

R:Circuit voltage 3.3V

Which values should I use for 3.3v voltage?

Q:Also, how was the chip configured initially? Did you configure the chip using ez-click in the eval board and used the same chip in your custom board?

R:I removed the chip on the CY3280-MBR3 development board and I soldered it on our card. We use the original (default) CY3280-MBR3 configuration.

Thank you.
