Hi,

     I am working on CY8CKIT-042 PSoC® 4 Pioneer Kit.

I would like to connect this kit to the external cap sense module. I have used all the GPIO pins available on the PSoC kit for taking the input from Cap sense but i still need two more pins.

So, can i use P4.0 and P4.1 (which are for I2C communication) for taking the input from Cap sense? If yes kindly let me know because I have tried connecting these pins (P4.0 and P4.1) to the Cap sense but couldn't sense any value.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

P4_0 and P4_1 are pulled-up with R8 and R9 for I2C.

So if you don't mind modifying the board,

remove R8 and R9,

then hopefully those pins can be used for other purposes.

But remember to apply pull-up resistors if you will use P4_0 and P4_1 as I2C pins.

Needless to mention, this will void the guarantee of the board

and you need to proceed at your own risk.
