Hello.
I know that the PSoC6 BLE support the Bluetooth 5.0.
The Bluetooth 5.0 support long range(+ 20 dBm)
Does the lineup of the PSoC6 BLE have long range product?
Thanks and Best regards.
Glenn.

Hello Glenn,
As of now, use of external PA is the only option to increase the power to 20dBm. We are looking at some options for integrated PA down the line for long term roadmap.
Thanks

Hi Glenn,
We do not have any PSoC 6 silicon line-up that can directly give +20dBm output power. You have to use external power amplifiers for this purpose. Please refer section 23 from the Antenna Design guidelines application note from Cypress. (link provided below) to use external amplifiers for Cypress' PSoCs.
Attaching the example schematic for external amplifier attached to P4BLE module. You can apply this to PSoC 6.
Thanks

Hello Ganesh.
I know about external amplifier.
I know that the bluetooth 5.0 has maxium +20 dBm output power itself or internal amplifier(?).
Is it correct?
Though it's the bluetooth 5.0, should it use external amplifier for long range?
Thanks and Best regards.
Glenn.

Hi Glenn,
BLE 5.0 supports a maximum of +20dB power level. But the PSoC 6 chip doesn't have the capability to transmit only upto +4dB maximum. So you should use an external power amplifier for long range.
Thanks

Hello Ganesh.
Thanks.
If so, Do you have plan that the PSoC6 BLE supports higher power level without external amplifier?
Thanks and Best regards.

GaneshD_41, any chance of getting the part number for the specific PA that's in that sample schematic?
