Hello,

I found that the following Declaration ID was registered in the Bluetooth launch studio.

-Upgraded Declaration ID: U047134

https://launchstudio.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/91896

-Upgraded Declaration ID: U047234

https://launchstudio.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/92177

Based on this information, I believe that v5.1 is supported by PSoC4BLE.

What do you think?

If yes, can I support by replacing PSoC Creator version or Component version?

Or will a new PSoC4BLE model number be added?

Best regards,

Kenji Takahashi

The BLE component we have at present is 3.61 with BLE stack version 3.6.1 (Build 370) which doesn’t support BLE spec v5.1.

The BLE stack version with 3.6.1 Build 372 and above supports BLE spec v5.1 which will be released soon.

Apologize for late response, but still need some time to check it.

Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

It seems that [BLE Stack Changes (page 546)] of Component datasheet was added last week.

Can this component be considered to support both Blutooth stack 4.1 and 4.2?

Hi Kenji Takahashi-san,

Yes. You are correct. To be clear I am typing once again:

The BLE component mentioned in the above link can support all Bluetooth v4.2 protocol mandatory features. But it does not support the following optional Bluetooth v4.2 protocol features, as listed in Vol 6, Part B, section 4.6 of the specification:

▪ Connection Parameters Request Procedure (Vol 6, Part B, section 4.6.2)

▪ Extended Reject Indication (Vol 6, Part B, section 4.6.3)

▪ Slave-initiated Features Exchange (Vol 6, Part B, section 4.6.4)

However, it also depends on the MPN that decides which component stack is actually followed (v4.1 or v4.2). The MPNs with extensions BL-400 to BL-499 support BLE stack v4.1 and the MPNS with extensions BL500-599 support BLE v4.2 features with few exceptions as mentioned above.

Thanks

Ganesh
