Hi,
i'm using Nor Flash part no. s29al016j55tfnr10 in my design which is 16 mega bit(1M x 16) top boot sector, which is programming using the Codewarrior 8.8 Ide tool where the device is not listed in the existing devices.
The available devices are all of AMD series and s29GL series so i want to know the equivalent part in AMD series for my device, so that i can use same configurations for this one.
i also want to know what is the base address should be taken for this device, i'm using in word mode configuration(16 bit).

Hi Saiprakash,
AMD flash devices are obsoleted now. Since your IDE supports S29GL devices, you can go to the Cypress website (https://www.cypress.com/products/parallel-nor-flash-memory ) and take a look at the available GL devices. I would like to inform you that GL series will not have 16Mb parts.
The base address or the starting address of the device is 0x000000. It has A0-A19 address lines and DQ0-DQ15 data lines.
We are not clear about your question regarding flash buff address and port size.
Best Regards,
Apurva

Hi Saiprakash,
Could you please clarify which device are you talking about?
However I would like to inform you that for both S29AL016J and S29GL064S devices the WP# contains an internal pull-up; when unconnected, WP# is at VIH. And the device is shipped with all sector groups unprotected. When WP# is driven LOW it will protect the corresponding top or bottom sector.
Please let me know if you have any confusion.
Regards,
Apurva
