I need a low budget chip that can detect if it is connected to a running notebook or tablet.

For example I have a USB hub / USB docking station where the USB ports have always power.

I need a chip that would be connected via USB with this hub and should detect if a notebook or tablet or smartphone is connected to this hub or docking station.

For example some mouse SOCs would power their LED off if the mouse can not detect a OS that supports a HID mouse. This is exactly what I need. However I want to know if cypress also have those chips that support this feature. I need a low budget chip. What could I use?

Hi,

You can check: CY7C65215

Refer to POWER# pin of this chip.

This is a Full Speed Device. POWER# can be assigned to any free GPIO using USB Serial Configuration Utility (Can be found after installing USB Serial SDK. Link: https://www.cypress.com/documentation/software-and-drivers/usb-serial-software-development-kit )

Please take a Development Kit which is available in the link: https://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cyusbs236-usb-serial-dual-channel-devel...  for your testing.
